| History of the Pacman Game | Pacman the game was first
released in Japan on May 22nd 1980 - it was incredibly popular and
became one of the most played games of the 80's and is considered as an
all time great game. Upon the Pacman Game release it became so popular that countless sequels were made, tons of merchandise released and it also inspired an animated TV series and a top ten hit single! Pacman was first released in the Arcades when most other games were space shooters such as Space Invaders and Asteroids. The Pacman game created a new genre in video game industry and appealled to both male and female - it is therefore that this great game is a landmark in the video games industry. Pacman is even on dislay in the Smithsonian museum along with Pong and Dragons Lair. |
